Shipping and Exchanges
How Little Desi ships its books in India and abroad: free shipping, delivery times, tracking, customs, and what to do if a book arrives damaged.

We ship our books. Story editions and courses are digital: they open in your Library as soon as your payment is confirmed, and nothing is shipped.
Shipping charges
Shipping is free. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay, with no shipping fee added. We do not offer cash on delivery.
Where we ship
We ship across India, and to the other countries offered at checkout.
Delivery times
Within India, your books reach you in 4–7 working days from the time your payment is confirmed. Outside India, allow 3–4 weeks.
Books leave from Bengaluru. Within India they travel by Delhivery, and abroad by India Post.
In rare cases, when our delivery partner’s service is disrupted, delivery takes longer. We follow it up with them until it reaches you. A delay on its own is not a reason for a refund.
Tracking your order
After you pay, we send you a link to your order page by email and WhatsApp. Once your parcel is booked, the order page shows the delivery partner, your tracking ID and a link to track it. For India Post, enter the tracking ID on India Post’s tracking page.
Customs and import duties
For orders to the United States, we pay the import duty, so nothing is due on delivery. For every other country outside India, customs duties and import taxes are not included in our prices and are paid by the recipient.
Your address
Please check your address before you pay. If it needs correcting, write to us as soon as you can: we can usually change it before the delivery partner picks up your parcel. If a parcel comes back to us undelivered, write to us and we sort it out with you.
Damaged or lost books
If a book arrives damaged, tell us within 48 hours of delivery, with your order ID and photos of the book and its packaging. We exchange it for a new copy at no cost. If the delivery partner confirms that your parcel is lost, we send a replacement. The details are in our Cancellation and Refunds policy.
