Who the shop is for

Our books, story editions and courses are made for children, but the shop is for adults. You must be 18 or older to sign in or buy. We do not knowingly collect a child’s personal data. A child who watches a story edition or course does so in a parent’s Library.

What we collect

When you sign in: your email address. We email you a one-time code; there is no password.
When you check out: your name, email address and phone number, and, for books we ship, your delivery address.
Your order: what you bought, the prices, any coupon, and the invoice we issue.
Your payment: Razorpay securely processes your payment. We never receive your full card or bank details and rely on the gateway to know whether the payment went through.
Your cart: what you add, held against a cookie on your device.
Your device and visit: your geolocation, your shop activity, and Meta’s cookie identifiers.

Why we use it

To sign you in and open what you bought in your Library.
To accept payments, ship your books, send your order confirmation and order link by email and WhatsApp, and answer your questions.
To issue invoices and keep the accounts tax law requires.
To keep sign-in and checkout safe from bots and fraud.
To measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram.
To send you news and offers. You can stop them at any time.

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the companies that help us run the shop, and each gets only what its job needs:

Our payment gateway, Razorpay, processes payments: your name, email address, phone number and the amount.
Our delivery partners deliver your books: your name, address and phone number.
Our hosting and infrastructure providers store our database, run sign-in, host the site, send our emails and keep bots out of sign-in.
Our messaging provider sends order messages to your WhatsApp.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram) receives data to serve and measure our ads.
Our chartered accountant receives our invoices, which carry your name and address, for our tax filings.
Government authorities receive data only when the law requires it.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies the site needs to work, and to serve ads on Meta. Meta’s use of the data is governed by Meta’s Privacy Policy.

Where it is stored

Our database is in Mumbai, India. Some of the companies above store or process data outside India, including Meta and our hosting providers.

How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as we need it. Orders and invoices are kept as long as tax law requires. Your account and Library stay until you ask us to close them.

Keeping it safe

Our site uses encrypted connections, only the people who run the shop can reach your data, and payments are handled by Razorpay, not by us. If anything ever puts your data at risk, we tell you straight away.

Your rights

You can ask us:

for a summary of the data we hold about you and who we shared it with;
to correct or update it;
to delete it, except what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices;
to stop using it for advertising;
to name someone who can act on your data for you.

Changes

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data, we tell you by email.
