Hanuman Chalisa

The opening verses

We learn the two opening dohas of the Hanuman Chalisa with abhinaya, dance mudras that act out each word. A doha is a sweet two-line verse that shares a big idea in a small way. First, we clean our mind, just like wiping a mirror 🪞, then we call Hanuman and ask him for strength, intelligence, and wisdom. But Tulsidas gives Hanuman a second list too, of things to take away. What is on it?
