Introduction to the Srimad Bhagavatam: Who said it to whom?
Ved Vyasa writes the Bhagavatam on Sage Narada’s advice, and his son Shukacharya tells it to King Parikshit. Why is the wisest sage of all so sad before he writes it?

Long ago, wise Ved Vyasa feels a little gloomy, even after writing the Vedas and the Mahabharata. Sage Narada chuckles and says, “You forgot the sweetest part: bhakti!”
So Vyasa writes the Bhagavatam, a treasure chest of Krishna’s magical, loving stories. His son Shukacharya tells it, and he is so clever that he got his first lessons while still inside his mum’s tummy!
And the best listener? King Parikshit, who spends the last week of his life sitting by a river, eyes wide and heart open, soaking up every story like the yummiest mango juice 🥭.
Can you guess how long the two of them talk, with no break for food or even sleep?
